After buying lots of the always reliable Full Cycle over the years, I have been trying out various of the Nossa light roast microlot offerings, so far the Demeka Becha, the Fredy Gonzales, and this Nicaragua natural. All of them delivered really good expresso, very different, but all with everything I want from espresso: lots going on, well balanced, not excessively acidic, good sweetness, and no grassiness or astringency. Hard to pick a favorite, but if forced to choose among then it would probably be this delicious Nicaragua. For best results, leave to rest for a week to 10 days after the roast. date.
Really had high hopes for this coffee based on other reviews and ordered a 2lb bag. Zero berry notes and no milk chocolate- maybe some bitter dark chocolate but there is a lingering astringency aftertaste as well. Tried multiple espresso recipes varying temps and flow profiles, but never got a decent shot on my ECM Classika with Eureka grinder. No joy with my drip coffee either. Even my wife says not a fan.
Very, very good coffee! Tastes like blueberries. Maybe my favorite Nossa coffee.
I have to review this coffee again. Tonight I tried in an aeopress and it was even better than great. Blueberries. Blackberries. Cherries. Chocalates. Pecans. Plus a really nice orange rind flavor, like they said. As clean as a natural can get. Beautiful. Thanks nossa.
Very good coffee.
