Celebrate Juneteenth with Coffee, Community & Giving Back

This Juneteenth weekend, Nossa Familia Coffee is proud to once again support BUF Oregon (Black United Fund of Oregon) by donating 19% of all café sales from June 19–21 to help support educational opportunities, mentorship programs, and community initiatives across Oregon.

At Nossa Familia Coffee, we believe coffee can be a powerful tool for connection, community, and meaningful change. Supporting organizations that invest in equity, education, and opportunity is one of the ways we strive to give back beyond the coffee we roast.

What is Juneteenth?

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865 — the day when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Today, Juneteenth is recognized as a celebration of freedom, resilience, culture, education, and community across the United States.

Your Cup of Coffee is Giving Back

For more than 40 years, BUF-OR (Black United Fund of Oregon) has worked to increase postsecondary success for youth while providing philanthropic support to underserved communities across Oregon.

Through scholarships, educational programs, mentorship, and community initiatives, BUF-OR continues to create opportunities and long-term impact for future generations.

This Juneteenth weekend, every coffee purchased at our cafés helps support that mission.

The Impact of Nossa Familia’s Giveback Program

At Nossa Familia Coffee, giving back has always been part of who we are.

Through our Giveback Coffee Program, we support nonprofits and organizations working to improve communities locally and in coffee-growing regions around the world.

Since 2004, we’ve contributed more than $600,000 in cash and in-kind donations supporting youth programs, environmental initiatives, and community organizations.

Our Giveback Coffees are one of the main ways we support impactful programs like these. For every bag of select coffees purchased, we donate 50¢ to initiatives making a meaningful difference.
