Portland is more than the city where we roast coffee. It’s our home, our community, and a place we believe is worth showing up for.
That’s why Nossa Familia Coffee is proud to support We Believe in Portland, a community cleanup powered by AdoptOneBlock that brings businesses, organizations, community leaders, and neighbors together to care for our city through collective action.
On Friday, September 25, 2026, more than 1,000 volunteers representing over 90 teams and individuals are expected to come together in Portland’s Central Eastside for an afternoon of community service, connection, and collective impact.
And we’re excited to be part of it.

What Is We Believe in Portland?
We Believe in Portland is a program of AdoptOneBlock that mobilizes Portland businesses, employees, community organizations, and neighbors to take action together.
Each year, the program hosts two large-scale cleanup events: a spring cleanup focused on Portland’s westside and a fall cleanup focused on the eastside. The goal goes beyond picking up litter. These events are designed to strengthen community connections and demonstrate what can happen when Portlanders come together around a shared purpose.
The Fall 2026 event is expected to bring together more than 1,000 volunteers from over 90 teams and individuals, with participants heading out to clean 13 zones throughout Portland’s Central Eastside.
Participation is free and open to everyone—not just corporate teams.

One City. One Community.
This year’s theme, One City. One Community., reflects a simple idea we believe in deeply: meaningful change happens when people come together.
For Nossa Familia, community has always extended beyond the walls of our cafés and roastery.
It includes the coffee producers and families we work alongside around the world, our team here in Portland, the customers who drink our coffee every day, and the organizations working to make the places we call home stronger.
That commitment is also reflected in the Nossa Familia Giveback Program. We commit 1% of annual gross profits to helping build a better world and, since Nossa Familia was founded in 2004, have contributed more than $667,000 in cash and in-kind donations to nonprofits and charitable causes supporting communities, youth, and the environment.
Supporting We Believe in Portland is another opportunity to invest directly in the community that has supported Nossa Familia for more than two decades.
More Than 1,000 Volunteers Coming Together
This fall’s cleanup will be centered in Portland’s Central Eastside, with WonderLove on SE Main Street serving as the home base.
Volunteers will gather there for the kickoff before heading out to clean 13 zones throughout the neighborhood.
Portland Mayor Keith Wilson is scheduled to speak at the kickoff, alongside a lineup of familiar local sports mascots: Timber Joey of the Portland Timbers, Blaze of the Portland Trail Blazers, Dillon T. Pickle of the Portland Pickles, Wally the Pilot from the University of Portland, and Barley of the Hillsboro Hops.
Together, the gathering is meant to bring this year’s One City. One Community. theme to life.
“When there’s a need, our community is ready to make an impact.”

Made Possible by Portland’s Community
We Believe in Portland is made possible through the support of local businesses, nonprofits, civic partners, and community organizations that share a commitment to a cleaner, stronger, and more connected Portland.
Nossa Familia Coffee is proud to be among the organizations supporting this year’s event, alongside Portland General Electric, Portland Timbers, Portland Bureau of Transportation, Metro, and many other businesses and community partners from across the region.
It’s a powerful reminder of what this year’s theme, One City. One Community., is all about: bringing different people and organizations together around a shared purpose.
We’re grateful to stand alongside so many organizations investing their time and resources in the city we all call home.
A Day of Cleanup, Connection & Celebration
The day begins at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 25, when volunteers gather at WonderLove for the kickoff.
From there, teams will spread across the Central Eastside to clean their assigned zones.
But the experience doesn’t end when the cleanup does.
After volunteering, participants will return to WonderLove for an After Party celebrating the collective impact of the day and providing an opportunity to connect with other volunteers, sponsors, and community partners.
The gathering will include live music from Baz Moto, with food and beverages available for purchase from WonderLove’s food carts and bar.

Why Nossa Familia Supports We Believe in Portland
At Nossa Familia, we believe being a good business also means being a good neighbor.
Our commitment to community stretches from the coffee-growing communities we work alongside to the city we call home here in Portland.
That philosophy is also part of why Nossa Familia became Oregon’s first Certified B Corporation coffee roaster in 2016. Nossa Familia’s B Corp commitments include supporting community organizations, reducing our environmental footprint, sourcing coffee responsibly, and using business as a force for good.
Our environmental commitments extend throughout the coffee cycle as well. From purchasing renewable energy and reducing roasting emissions to waste-reduction initiatives at our cafés and roastery, we continually look for ways to reduce our impact while strengthening the communities around us.
Sometimes making an impact involves big, long-term commitments. Other times, it looks like neighbors putting on a pair of gloves, grabbing a bucket, and spending a few hours taking care of the streets we all share.
Both matter.
Portland Is Part of Our Familia
Nossa Familia’s relationship with Portland goes back to the very beginning.
Our founder, Augusto Carneiro, came to Portland from Brazil before eventually leaving his engineering career to bring his family’s coffee—grown in Brazil for generations—to the Pacific Northwest.
That decision became Nossa Familia Coffee in 2004.
More than two decades later, Portland remains an essential part of who we are.
It's where we roast our coffee, where members of our team live and work, where our cafés welcome customers, and where so many relationships that have shaped Nossa Familia have begun.
That’s why investing in Portland isn’t separate from our work as a coffee company.
It’s part of it.
