We are currently hiring for the following positions:


Events Manager

Classification: Hourly, non-exempt
Anticipated Hours: 30-40 hours per week
Wage: $13-15 per hour, DOE, plus tips
Benefits: Retirement, PTO, health care, supplemental/dental pre-tax, paid holidays, paid parental leave, paid volunteer hours, free coffee 

Nossa Familia is looking for a sharp and detail-oriented Events Manager. This individual will be responsible for the management and successful execution of all Nossa Familia events, Farmers Markets, parties, and catering. This person must also possess strong management skills and have the ability to maintain the trust of events staff support, collaborate and communicate effectively with the team, and efficiently manage schedules, logistics, inventory, and financial reporting. A flexible schedule is a must, and the right candidate should be willing to work long, stressful hours, weekends, early mornings, and late evenings. In the world of events, every day is different - we’re looking for someone who sees that as an exciting opportunity to grow with us. 

Position Expectations:

  • Experience managing people, and the ability to gain and maintain the trust and respect of your employees and colleagues. This position will require the management of 5-10 employees. 
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to work early mornings, long days, random hours, and weekends. Often willing to step in at a moment’s notice if needed. 
  • Able to lift 30-75lb and work on your feet for extended periods, and outdoors in all-weather conditions.
  • Must be adaptable, flexible, and autonomous, with an entrepreneurial spirit and excellent problem solving & critical thinking skills in stressful situations. These are not buzz-words listed solely for this job description--ensure you resonate with these definitions before applying. 
  • Highly creative and able to generate new ideas for events and collaborations, and have the vision and expertise to see them through to completion. 
  • Experience in events and management; customer service, catering, demonstrations, trade shows, and samplings. Bonus points for coffee/barista experience. 
  • Maintain a positive and upbeat disposition and a sense of urgency when helping customers—deliver remarkable customer service at all times, without fail. 
  • Extremely detail-oriented and professional when it comes to managing staff, communicating with customers, preparing for and setting up events. Punctual and able to hold others accountable for being on-time. 
  • Be willing and ready to be involved in every step of the events process - planning, packing, set up, execution, tear down, and clean up. Organization and cleaning up after yourself and events is a requirement of this position. 
  • Collaborate with clients and other members of the company professionally, respectfully and with integrity. Exemplary communication skills are a must—in person, on the phone, by email, in text messages or when using any other communication tool. 
  • Comfortable riding a cargo bike and driving large delivery vehicles - a driver's license is required.

Specific Position Functions: 

  • Manage Nossa Familia’s presence at Farmers Markets - staffing, training, hiring, scheduling, setup, process improvement, acquiring requisite permits, handling communication with market managers. 
  • Work Farmers Markets on Saturdays. 
  • Plan & execute parties, launches, openings.
  • Manage and respond to event and sponsorship requests in consultation with the marketing team. 
  • Work with marketing team to promote original events and event presence. 
  • Respond to catering inquiries, make catering sales and coordinate elegant execution of catering requests. 
  • Work with demo staff/manager to coordinate wholesale account demos, samplings, events. 
  • Conduct iced coffee bike tours & demos as needed. Oversee training, education, and quality control with events staff. 
  • Manage inventory, equipment maintenance, and supply orders for events and catering. 
  • Responsible for organization, cleanliness of events area & equipment. 
  • Managing & supporting events staff - helping them so they can help you.

Barista, SE 3rd & Clay

Classification: Hourly, non-exempt
Anticipated Hours: 35+/week
Wage: $11.25+tips
Benefits: Retirement, PTO, health care, supplemental/dental pre-tax, paid holidays, paid parental leave, paid volunteer hours, free coffee


We are looking for a barista who will work at our new cafe at SE 3rd & Clay.


  • Produce the best coffee drinks in town.  Wow the customer with perfectly-extracted espresso, perfectly-textured milk, and beautiful latte art.
  • Be excitable and personable when interacting with our customers.  We only want the friendliest baristas in town.
  • Be knowledgeable (or teachable) and excited to educate our customers.
  • Diligent in accurately processing transactions.
  • Willing to work up to 12 hours per day (typical days will be in the 4-8 hour range)
  • Able to lift 50lbs infrequently
  • Able to remain standing and stationary for extended periods of time
  • Other duties as directed by supervisors
